Major General H Dharmarajan on Thursday took over as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Bengal on Wednesday.
Dharmarajan is a graduate of National Defense Academy, Khandakwasla, IMA Dehradun and Defense Services Staff College, Wellington. The new Chinese government attended senior command courses in Washington DC and the NDC in New Delhi.
BTech, MSc (Defence Studies), MSc (National Security Strategy), M.Phil (Strategic Studies) and MBA (HRM), Dharmarajan was appointed to the Corps of Engineers (Madras Engineer Group) in December 1986 and during his 36-year career held several positions at various levels at brigade, division, corps, command and army headquarters.
The officer commanded an infantry division on the Line of Control and also headed India's Rashtriya Military Academy during his career. Prior to taking up this post, he was Additional Director General (Financial Planning) at the Army Headquarters.
